How to download Google+ data (profile, contacts, streams, picasa, buzz)

Just in my last post, we talked about how to remove your Google+ profile from public search results. Today we will talk about another Privacy feature called Takeout which lets you download all your data including profile, Contacts, circles, Picasa web album, buzz very easily in the form of archives.

This feature or service known as Takeout  creates backup archives for all your data like  profile, Contacts, circles, Picasa web album, buzz and you can download it with few clicks.

You can use Takeout to back up your data by going to takeout or, if you’re already signed in, follow the steps below:

  1. Sign in to Google+.
  2. Click your full name or email address in the Google+ bar.
  3. Click Account settings.
  4. Click the Data liberation tab.
  5. Select either Download Your Data to export everything, or select a specific service.

It would be great if Facebook provides a similar service to download everything from Facebook including Facebook profile, Pictures and anything else that is stored with them. This will be a great addition to Facebook privacy settings which right now are too bad.
