We have talk about USB encryption or locking tools like Panda USB vaccine in previous posts too and today we will talk about another such tool called USB Safeguard. It’s a small simple and portable software which can encrypt and protect your data with a password on your removable pen drives using the AES 256 bits encryption.
It is so simple to use. It can be though run only when it is on your USB drive and not on your laptop or desktop. When you run it for first time, it will ask you to create a password and you can save a backup of it on your system if you want. After that it provides you a interface on which you can just drag or drop your files to encrypt.
Keep in mind, if you lost your password there is now way you can retrieve your data. Hence you should remeber the password or save the password file at some safe place. It also gives you a option to set your email or phone number in case the drive is lost and someone who found it can contact you if he wants to return it to you.
Along with encryption of your files and data, it also has a option of ‘Safe Internet Browsing’ to surf safe on web and it removes all Internet traces like URL history, typed URLs, typed passwords in web forms and etc. plus a Built in file shredder – i.e. wiping the contents of the original pre-encrypted file.
A youtube video below will be able to explain everything much better if you need more details. We would like to hear your comments or feedback about this or any other USB protection tool you use. Now watch the video which describes almosty every feature and how to use it.
