Many of you may have installed Windows 8 on your physical system or Virtual system. Even though, one of the best features that comes with Windows 8 is Metro UI, it may seem inconvenience for many to start using it instead of our old start menu just like in Windows 7. Today we will talk about a simple registry trick which can disable this new user interface and get old Start menu in Windows 8 just like Windows 7.
Step by Step Procedure:
1. Launch Regedit using the Run Window. Just type (Win + R) key and type regedit.
 2. In registry editor, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
3. Double-click RPEnabled and change its value from 1 to 0 to remove Metro and get back to the desktop Windows you are used to. Just check the screenshot below which you get after changing this registry value.
Keep in mind that by doing this, your Metro UI of Windows 8 gets disabled and you cannot use the it unless you enable it again. Also, the time and date window block will always be visible to you and it will be on top of any window that you open.
Hence unless you are totally frustrated with Metro UI, you should not disable it. or a better choice will be to get back to Windows 7.
