So you thought , something good comes free? Think again. Millions of users worldwide are going to get affected by a recent update of change in TOS of Facebook.Almost millions of people around the world use Facebook to share views, pics and other personal stuff with friends and families.
A recent update on Feb 13 by Facebook in their TOS gives a shocker.
See yourself if you are comfortable with the following section of their TOS. Atleast i am not comfortable with what this section states and i am seriously thinking of deleting my facebook account.
Here’s the legal bit that’s got everybody worried:
You hereby grant Facebook an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to (a) use, copy, publish, stream, store, retain, publicly perform or display, transmit, scan, reformat, modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute (through multiple tiers), any User Content you (i) Post on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof subject only to your privacy settings or (ii) enable a user to Post, including by offering a Share Link on your website and (b) to use your name, likeness and image for any purpose, including commercial or advertising, each of (a) and (b) on or in connection with the Facebook Service or the promotion thereof.
and this was just added…
“You may remove your User Content from the Site at any time. If you choose to remove your User Content, the license granted above will automatically expire, however you acknowledge that the Company may retain archived copies of your User Content.”
It gives them immense right to use your personal stuff for their purpose without sharing a penny with you.So, user have to pay a price (heavy one) in this form if they want to use Facebook. Better avoid that.

i get stuff or download stuff without reading the terms of service.
after reading this article, it made me realize how important it is to read it.
since most companies know that people do not actually read it.
they take advantage of them.
like what facebook did to its users,
I read the article and it shocked me.
facebook has the right to own and of your stuff and infos which is pretty scary.
You are right dude. Most people including me almost everytime escape reading the TOS while signing up for any web service. This facebook incident reminds everyone that we should be careful.
Regarding facebook, i was one of the first users to delete my account and right now i am Facebook free. LOL
