thefreevpn is not anymore a free VPN client. They have stopped giving even Free invitations only and now fully paid. You need to spend some money before you can use it.

What you mean by censored sites? perhaps blocked sites either by your ISP or network administrator?
Using VPN many of them free as listed above can be used to access these blocked sites.

Free VPNs do not last for too long, the best free tool for anonymous internet surfing is still tor.

Whether it will or or not will depend on how technically sound and how restricted the firewalls are. Also, it may vary from one VPN to other. In most cases they will work in my view but if the blocking is at port level then you may have problems.
