This is the 4th in series of Giveaways in Avinashtech Birthday Celebrations i.e. ABC-4. This review is done by our Forum Mod Ashwin who blogs at Ashwingeek.

IOBit‘s flagship product, Advanced SystemCare is loaded with a bunch of useful tools, tweakers. Lets take a look at them. Advanced SystemCare Pro has some exclusive features that aren’t available in the free version:

  • Automated Care
  • Automated Update
  • Automated Sweep
  • Ultimate Speedup
  • The free version does not fix many errors either.

Installation:

During the installation, you will be asked to choose some options. GUI language, Theme color, which can be change later too. Advance sys care offers to install IOBit search bar to your web browser and offers to change your homepage, default search engine. I have never been a fan of toolbars, so I unchecked the options to install them.

User Interface:

The user interface looks glossy, actualy a bit transparent. You can adjust transparency level, Brightness level, GUI language and theme color by clicking on Options>User Interface. Under Overview, you can see the program version, database date, last scan, User account (for pro), and statistics.

Its quite useful, you can use these options as a reminder to run scans periodically.

Latest news:

Sometimes displays ads about affiliated products like Ashampoo, or displays info about other IOBit products

Features explained: (including personal experience with Advanced SystemCare Pro)

Maintain Windows:

Spyware removal, Registry Fix, Privacy Sweep and Junk Clean.

Spyware removal found a tracking cookie when I ran a scan, nothing really harmful though. And the scanning speed was quite fast too.

Registry fix scans invalid registry, invalid shortcuts etc. Scanning took a few mins,  because I have a lot of softwares installed and the results were pretty accurate. There were a few registry entries of softwares that I had previously uninstalled.

A backup is created before you choose to repair it, in case of any problems. You can restore a backup by clicking on the restore tab on the upper right-hand corner of the interface. Also contais information such as,Date and time the scan was run

Privacy Sweep will erase browsing history, cookies, etc. Close your browser before running this, else the process would be skipped

Junk Clean will scan and remove junk files. Removes temporary files, etc to recover HDD space. quite useful

Diagnose System:

System Optimization, Security Defense, Disk Defragment, Security Analyzer

System Optimization: This is one feature I do not use as it changes many Windows settings. But it can be configured under the setting tab

Security Defense prevents spyware from being installed on the computer.

As I products only from trusted websites and use safe surfing methods, I havent really faced this sort of a problem

Disk Defragment: Even though it is very useful, it is quite slow. I have IOBit Smart Defrag installed on my PC, since its much more powerful as a stand alone program so I dont use this either.

Security Analyzer scans windows to fix hijacked settings.

Options:

There are a lot of options that can be changed for the above described tools. I recommend the default settings, unless it affects your computer in any way. You can disable certain settings like “Execute at Windows Startup”

Has some useful tools for tweaking your computer. Most of these tools are used
