We have been hearing about efforts made by developers around the web to port the Siri app to other Apple iOS devices. At the moment, Siri is available exclusively on Apple iPhone 4S. Few days back, we heard from a developer along with the website 9to5mac efforts and they were able to succeed to large extent except to port the Siri App being able to connect to Apple servers. Apple servers were still not authenticating the requests from ported Siri App. Today we are hearing about a similar but much better news in terms of ability of porting Siri App to all iOS 5 devices.
A Developer names Jackoplane Jackoplaneclaims to have been able to port the Siri App to iOS 5 devices without even jailbreaking the device. He also claims to be able to connect to Apple servers successfully. He also claims to been able to install this port to older Apple devices which can be upgraded to iOS5. He does plan to release this port but not sure when. As said earlier, supported devices will be the devices running iOS 5, here’s the list:
- iPad 1
- iPad 2
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3GS
- iPod touch 3G
- iPod touch 4G
Honestly we are not sure how genuine the claims are? Unless we see a working video of the ported app, we cant be sure. Apart from the working part, we are still not sure if this port is done without taking help in any form of piracy. We still remember what @musclenerd said about this probable Siri port. As per his opinion, the port of Siri is not possible without piracy.
We still hope that someone can port the Siri App to other devices without using any form of piracy. We will keep track of any further developments. Stay tuned.
