Direct Download Links for Windows 7 32Bit (x86) and 64-Bit (x64)

by Avinash on October 26, 2009 in Microsoft

As most of you know, Windows 7 is released worldwide on 22nd october. The downloads are available through MSDN which offer ISO images of windows 7. But MSDN is available to select few who have MSDN subscription. Many people who need ISO images rely on torrent networks or warez sites which doesn’t guarantee a original ISO and may have been hacked in some way.

Some purchases made by students are given a disk which doesnt contain a ISO but instead 3 files which needs to be combined to get ISO and then can be used for installing windows 7. Now you too can download Windows 7 from official download links.

Note : -  You need a genuine Windows 7 Key to activate it and use it beyond 30 days or you can use it for 120 days using rearming it.

After downloading the files, simply double click on the executable, e.g. Win7-P-Retail-en-us-x86.exe to start unloading the box and to install Windows 7. Note that 3 files must be put together in the same directory. You still need a product key to activate installed Windows 7.

I've downloaded the 3 64 bit files and they extracted into what looks like the full dvd layout. How do I make a bootable disc from this point?

In article itself its written.

Should have just downloaded a bloody torrent!

4 Avinash November 17, 2009 at 9:15 PM

Torrents are good if you are sure of what you are downloading and its not infected or injected with some malicious code. Obviously you will need a Key to activate it unless you are in mood to use a pirated one which i wont recommend. Better stick to your old operating system( me still on XP) if you are not buying this.

I had downloaded and installed it.
Lastly,I key in my licensed(legal) product key.
When I got into Control Panel->System,the product key weren’t shown my licensed product key but another which looks like (pirate)illegal.

Is it this downloaded installer have already been cracked?

8 Avinash December 29, 2009 at 8:15 AM

Its a genuine installer mate directly from microsoft. And hence its not a pirated or cracked one. The product key you see as above is different from what you entered. So no need to worry.

i downloaded the three files but when i click the .exe i get “the application cannot find one of its required files, possibly because it was unable to create it in the folder. please make sure that the folder in which this application was downloaded is accessible and not read-only.” i am trying to run the .exe on xp so i was wondering if that makes a difference. and if not, what solutions are there?

10 Avinash January 1, 2010 at 12:43 PM

Well, the reason for this error may be ” All the files are not in the same folder when you are running the .exe ” or may be you are running it from a hard disk which has got insufficient space. Keep in mind that for doing this you need to have atleast 8-9 gb of free space (to be safe) and you should have administrative rights (to avoid any errors).

11 candy January 2, 2010 at 12:05 AM

so i would need to put all 3 files into one folder anywhere? and how do i make sure i have administrative rights ? thanks

12 Avinash January 2, 2010 at 12:08 AM

yes, three files in same folder. If you on Windows XP, you need to just logged in as administrator ( It wont affect much if you are on XP). While on vista, just right click on exe file and choose run as administrator.

Thanks bro.. Win7 installation is not so complicated as that of XP.

Its very Simple to get an Activation key. Its within your DVD. Just insert the DVD to the drive >> then open it>> then open a folder named “Sources” >> in there look for a file named “Products” and open it with Note pad or with word pad. Write down the product key you want for your particular Win 7 edition.. Anyway thnx again..

Welcome mate. Thank you for your feedback.

Hi Avinash,
I was just wondering if these downloads still work. Is this a trial or beta version? (Im using XP Genuine)

17 Avinash January 22, 2010 at 12:43 PM

The downloads does work. This is Only the setup files which when combined gives you a full DVD image of Windows 7.

To use it or install it, you need to have a valid genuine Windows 7 license key. If you don’t have a key or you don’t enter a key during install, it will work as a evaluation version for 30 days only.

18 Ashwin January 22, 2010 at 12:52 PM

Thanks for the prompt reply. I will test windows 7 and decide on buying it or not. And does your website have a link for Windows vista. I use vista at my office and would love to try it on my pc.

19 Avinash January 22, 2010 at 12:55 PM

No links for vista you will find here. I would suggest try windows 7 only as its just like the better version of vista with better performance. For me vista is useless, and if you are on vista then you will love windows 7. :)

20 Ashwin January 22, 2010 at 1:09 PM

Ok no problem. Thanks again for replying promptly. And you are right, XP is better than Vista in many ways , but still i find it good. Better security than XP. Or i may install Kubuntu linux as a dual boot with my XP.

(I have subscribed to your email feed, will i get updates on latest giveaways)

I would love to win that premium firewall. He he (Using comodo 3.13 with Norton AV 2010 genuine) Bye :-D

(PS: Windows firewall sucks)

Frustrating!!:) I wish I had found this site a few weeks ago when I was desperately in need of these files after totally messing up my computer while trying to configure a dualboot setup, b/c of course the big manufacturers no longer provide OS reinstall disks. Great resource… thanks for putting this out there. Hopefully it will help other people.

To anyone using a torrent (i did) be sure to check the hash!

Thanks Kathy for leaving a feedback. Yes the links are quite helpful for those who need setup files.

As you said, it will help others at least. Also, glad that you found this site :)
