If you are an iPad2, iPad3 or iPhone4S owner and have upgraded your device firmware to iOS 5.1 and want to downgrade back to iOS 5.0.1, then thanks to the latest Redsn0w, you can do that. Before this release of Redsnow, it was not possible to downgrade firmware versions of A5 devices like iPad3, iPad2 or iPhone4S. This is made possible by implementing a hack by the team that allows A5 downgrades without a bootrom-level exploit. It was announced by the Dev Team in a blog post.
Starting with redsn0w version 0.9.11b1, those with newer devices (iPad2, iPad3, and iPhone4S) can join the downgrade fun too! In a radical departure from previous versions of redsn0w, it now directly supports restoring IPSWs to your device.
Most of iOS 5.0.1 users must have jail broken on their iPad or their other devices with the recent jailbreak release and are running iOS 5.0.1 only as JB users cant upgrade to iOS 5.1 as it will remove the jailbreak. With the release of iOS 5.1 and iPhoto last week by Apple, many users have boughtiPhoto App. Many users are facing a crash issue if they are running a jailbroken iPad or any other device with iOS 5.1 installed on it. As I said before, these users cant even upgrade to iOS 5.1 as it will remove the jailbreak and at the moment, there is no untethered jailbreak available for iOS 5.1.
Most Apple iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners were waiting for the release of untethered Jailbreak for their devices and finally it got released yesterday by “Dream team” consisting of @planetbeing, the legendary hacker behind iPhone Linux and lot of jailbreaks (see the iPhone wiki), (@MuscleNerd), the leader of the iPhone Dev Team and (@tp0sixninja), the leader of the Chronic Dev Team, apart from @pod2g. They are finally able to release a unthered Jailbreak for the A5 devices i.e iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Most Apple users must be aware that untethered Jailbreak for A4 devices are already out and only A5 devices were left out to be jailbroken.

Looks like untethered jailbreak of iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4 is round the corner. @pod2g confirmed this on twitter. If you keep track of Jailbroken news, you will remember that he is the same developer who successfully jailbroken iPod 3g untethered.
His tweet read ” Got an untethered iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. Feel Free to update”.
What this means for other iOS 5 devices like iPad 2 which are yet to be jailbroken either tethered or Untethered? Honestly we dont know and can only wait. Hopefully, iPAD 2 will be jailbroken soon either tethered or untethered. No time frames though promised by any developer.
Apple has always been reluctant to release its iOS devices like iPhone, iPad to Indian market parallel to their international launch or at least within few months compared to any other International launch. But the trends do seem to change a bit starting with iPad 2 and iPhone 4 which got launched in India within months of its US Launch. Looks like Indians can have their hands soon on iPhone 4S with the official launch of iPhone 4S (not by Apple though, but a Telecom Carrier).As we know, iPhone is available with two carriers right now, i.e Aircel and Airtel.
Aircel India is set to launch iPhone 4s on their network on 25th November. As most of you are aware that Apple iPhone 4S is the latest smartphone by Apple which comes with 200+ new features of iOS 5 along with a 8MP Camera, Retina display and much more. It will be open to pre-booking on November 18th. Here is what Aircel website says :

We are still to hear anything about iPhone 4S launch in India from any other telecom Operator including Airtel.
iPhone 4S Pricing in India
Aircel is still to divulge details about the pricing of iPhone 4S. Other details too are still to come out like whether it will come with a 2 year contract or without contract? Whether it will be locked to Aircel or it will be unlocked? We are guessing the price range to be in order of INR 40,000. Fingers crossed, we will keep this post updated as and when something new comes out.
