Congratulations to all the winners : Online Armor is really a very good firewall.

However, I didn’t participated in this drawing because I already own this software for which I have paid.

But even if I have paid for it, I do not use this firewall anymore because it was blocking a couple of my regular softwares and it could not remember what I was telling it to do.

Since about a month I use COMODO free firewall and I am very much more happier with this firewall than with Online Armor.

If you go on Matousec’s website, a specialized site on firewalls, you will find that COMODO and PC Tools Firewall Plus are the two best firewalls on the market and that they are also free.

I have waited till the end of the drawing to post this comment so that a maximum of people participate in this drawing but also to say to the people who didn’t won that they can grab a more effective firewall.

Finally I know that the people who have won Online Armor will maybe not have all the problems I have got with it and I also know they surely be happy with this excellent firewall.

For one, if you think Comodo was without issues until people who didn’t give up on it, helped make it a better software, then you are mistaken. I was with Comodo for a very long time and a moderator there and believe me, there were more issues than you could shake a stick at, including either allowing some things to pass or it would shut you connection completely down, giving BSODs, blocking connections, a gaming nightmare, etc… the list goes on.

Now, it is a good firewall currently and most of these issues are long gone “or maybe not” I haven’t supported them in some time, however, it didn’t get there from people giving up on it and not to mention the fact, morally, I will NOT support Comodo due to the way they handle things and just because it’s given to me, doesn’t mean I will use it and go against what I feel in my opinion were wrong doings at Comodo and still to this day I don’t like what they do or now stand for and will go without a firewall before installing their product on my machine.

That said, I understand that you posted this for those who didn’t win, which is great and will allow them an oportunity at a free firewall. However O-A has a free version as well. In 2008, o-A was in fact a top pick, see this great review here…

May have been in 2008 but for any software to make the top of anything as O-A did, says something for it. Besides, they still scored a 10+ and made the top of the list with the FREE version. I don’t feel that’s anything to scoff at personally .

My point is not to defend O-A but not to make it sound like a horrible application against the likes of Comodo because it’s not.

OH- *Ahem* almost forgot, silly me! Just a quick mention!
There is a Sputnik that has posted about Comodo in many other spots, “yes I browse numerous security forums” and if that is you, the responses to your Comodo postings have been not so good , people were definitely less than happy and “if this is you” you seem to defend them till no end. As well, why post against other firewalls just to cheerlead Comodo on? That’s one of the brainwashed Comodo examples I can’t stand and yes, I do remember what people post and whom, call it a gift or call it a search engine. “If that is you of course”. If not, then ignore this.

No, PChammer, I’m not the Sputnik you are talking about.

Again, but maybe a little bit more clearly, I will just say that the comparison I’m making between O.A. and COMODO is based on my ACTUAL experience of these two firewalls.

I had plenty of problems with O.A. and since a month I’m using COMODO and I just don’t have any problem at all with it : that’s all…

And if we go on Matousec’s website we will see that COMODO is the best firewall for the moment and it is an excellent firewall in these tests since a long time.

I know COMODO already had problems, but that’s the past…

Finally I’m not saying O.A. is not a good software : it is a very good one. But it seems that from time to time an excellent software causes nightmares to somebody just because of conflicts between this excellent software and some other softwares : I think it is my case…

I agree, it depends on a person’s system and with the wide range of software and combinations out there, one may cause issues for someone but not another. No matter what we choose, it’s nice to have a choice for sure ;)

Hi

I just downloaded and registered Online Armor with the key i got from TallEmu.
i would like to thank Avinash, TallEmu and David Northmore for giving this to me and the other 99. (Congrats guys).OA seems to be pretty faster and user friendly than Comodo Firewall 3 (which i obviously uninstalled now). More feedback after a couple of days

Thanks again, however, it’s not installing on my X64 system , thought I’d try it again and they don’t have a 64 bit yet so will install it on my son’s PC. Thanks again for the giveaway :)

Yep, I did read it and thought with Windows 7 being so 32 bit supportive, it may work which unfortunately, even in compatability mode, it didn’t. I do look forward to the X64 version soon :)

I am sorry to hear that. It seems that some of the winners have leaked the code I sent to them or they have used that code for buying more than one license.
