Most of us who work on computers day in and out have to deal with the brightness of the display and its effect on how we work. Most of the times, the display is not in tune with the the lighting available in that room depending on whether its day or night, sunlight or cloudy day. Often this results in stress on our eyes or less sleep even though most of the users dont even think that its related to the computer screen.
Today we will talk about a small utility F.lux which lets you adjust your display of the computer screen including the color adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day. f.lux makes your computer screen look like the room you’re in, all the time. When the sun sets, it makes your computer look like your indoor lights. In the morning, it makes things look like sunlight again. Just tell f.lux what kind of lighting you have, and where you live. Then forget about it. F.lux will do the rest, automatically.
It even detects your location and change your display automatically depending on the whether of your place, sunset, sunrise and the indoor lighting of your room.
The tool is available for Windows, Mac, iOS+ Cydia and Linux. So it doesn’t matter on what operating system you are working on, you can install this tool on your computer.
I am using this tool on my laptop and it does help me stay long hours on computers, and allows me to fall asleep easier. The tool is developed based on sleep research and Mental activation, the effect of luminance and color temperature for lowering of physiological activity.
If you are a heavy Computer user, You must try it and I bet you would love it as it does make a great positive effect on eyes and the way we work on computers.
